Accessibility improvement for Puerto de Mazarron panoramic elevator
The contract to install a panoramic elevator and to improve accessibility on the Peñasco promenade in Puerto de Mazarrón goes out to tender
Mazarrón Mayor Ginés Campillo has agreed to start the contracting process to carry out the installation of an elevator and the improvement of accessibility in the Paseo del Peñasco in Puerto de Mazarrón.
According to the documentation for the contracting of the works, the project has a total amount of 687,868.33 euros, VAT included, broken down into 568,486.22 euros of principal amount and 119,382.11 euros corresponding to VAT. The deadline for submitting bids is July 6, 2024.
This initiative is part of the objectives of the Mayor to improve accessibility and mobility for the inhabitants of Mazarrón and visitors. The installation of an elevator will facilitate access for people with reduced mobility, the elderly and families. In addition, it will guarantee a safer and more comfortable environment, which will reduce the risk of accidents and increase the quality of life of residents and visitors
Mayor Campillo expressed his pride in making the project a reality: "This proposal has been a personal project for years. I am sure that it will solve problems and help locals, as reflected in their long-standing requests to improve accessibility between Avenida Narciso Yepes and Calle Viriato, where currently people with reduced mobility face great difficulties as there is only one staircase and the steep Paseo del Peñasco with a slope of about 9 metres."
