Águilas cemetery receives clean-up before the annual flood of All Saints’ Day visitors

The Spanish tradition is to pay respects to the departed every year on 1st November

Águilas cemetery receives clean-up before the annual flood of All Saints’ Day visitorsIn late October and early November Águilas joins with the rest of Spain in celebrating All Saints and All Souls and in preparation for the large numbers of visitors who flock every year to pay the respects to and celebrate the lives of their deceased friends and family, Town Hall workers are hard at work making sure the cemetery is in top condition.

Apart from the usual gardening staff, other workers have been dispatched to the cemetery in order to make people’s annual visits as pleasant as possible, providing a fitting atmosphere for one of the most important dates of the year in the Spanish national consciousness.
