December 8 Sleeping Beauty ballet in the city of Murcia
The Ballet Clásico Internacional at the Auditorio Víctor Villegas in Murcia
Sleeping Beauty was first commissioned for the Imperial Theatre of Russia in 1889, and with music by Piotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreography was performed for the first time at the Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg early the following year.
This classical piece, adapted from the fairy tale by Charles Perrault and a later version by the Grimm brothers, is still frequently performed today, telling the tale of Princess Aurora and her being woken after 100 years of slumber by the handsome prince.
The performance at the Auditorio Víctor Villegas in Murcia on 8th December begins at 20.00 with tickets priced at 20 and 25 euros and available online here. Alternatively, they can be purchased at the box office (weekdays 9.00 to 14.00, Tuesday and Wednesday 17.00 to 20.00) or by telephone (968 343080) during box office opening hours.
