Mazarron Murcia is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on Mazarron Murcia, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?
…but try not to exceed 300 words
Also attach a photo to illustrate your article, no more than 100kb

Murcia City launches free themed routes to celebrate its rich history and heritage

- “Twelve Centuries in Our Institutions” takes participants inside historic halls such as the Alcázar Mayor, the Convent of Santa Clara, and Murcia City Hall. Here visitors can trace how local governance and institutions have evolved over twelve centuries.
- “A Walk Through Our History Through Its Bibliography” explores Murcia’s impressive archives, libraries, and museums. Attendees will see manuscripts, maps, and documents that reveal layers of the city’s story preserved on paper.
- “1,200 Years in the Huerta and the Monteagudo Complex” invites people outdoors to discover the traditional agricultural landscape that has shaped Murcia. Highlights include historic sites like Monteagudo Castle and tales of legendary figures such as Alfonso el Sabio (Alfonso the wise aka Alfonso X) from 13th century and El Rey Lobo (the Wolf King): a Muslim king of Christian origin from 12th century.
- For families and the young at heart, the “Murcia and Its 1,200 Years” cultural gymkhana combines a treasure hunt with fun challenges. This interactive tour turns history into an entertaining adventure, encouraging participants to actively engage with the city’s past.
