July 18 Guided tour of the Cabezo Gordo and wine tasting in Torre Pacheco
Enjoy an enchanted evening at the Stone Age site where Neanderthals used to live
Escape the heat by going underground, for a dramatised tour of the Cabezo Gordo hill and its Cueva del Agua (cave of water), followed by a wine tasting on Friday July 18.
Torre Pacheco Town Hall has organised the excursion as part of its ‘Atardeceres Encantados’ (‘Enchanted Evenings’) series of activities at the municipality’s world-famous palaeontological site this summer.
The dramatised tour will be given (in Spanish) by an archaeologist/miner, and will start at 7pm.
After the visit, on the esplanade near the Cueva del Pie del Gigante (Giant’s Foot Cave), there will be a wine tasting explained (also in Spanish) by enologist Andrés Gómez, from the wine company La Diligente, based in the local district of El Jimenado.
The meeting point is the car park of the Cabezo Gordo, which is located by the southern slope of the hill.
The activity will last for approximately three hours and tickets cost €10 per person.
Advance booking is essential and can be done on the Region of Murcia tourism website. You can also call the Tourism Office on 0034 968 57 99 37 or email turismo@torrepacheco.es
The municipal tourism department reserves the right to cancel the visit due to bad weather, force majeure or not reaching the minimum number of bookings.
