March 20 Poncia with Lolita Flores at the Águilas auditorium
An examination of the dark recesses of the House of Bernarda Alba by García Lorca at the Auditorio Infanta Doña Elena
“Poncia”, by Luis Luque, is set on a thick foggy night, when Poncia, the servant of Bernarda Alba in the classic play “La Casa de Bernarda Alba” by Federico García Lorca, is praying for the soul of her departed mistress. The house is silent but Poncia maintains a dialogue with Bernarda and her daughters., examining some of the dark corners in Lorca’s work and broaching topics such as suicide, freedom, guilt, class, education and sex.
The performance on Thursday March 20 begins at 20.00 with tickets priced at 20 euros and available online here as well as at the Auditorio itself before the curtain rises if there are seats left.
