Orihuela Costa apartment block evacuated following midnight blaze in underground car park
Numerous vehicles were damaged or destroyed but no-one was injured
Fire fighters had to work flat out for almost four hours to extinguish a blaze in an underground car park in Orihuela Costa on Tuesday night, August 9.
They were alerted at 12.21am and rushed to the scene at Calle del Mar, 15 in Cabo Roig, near the Aguamarina commercial centre.
The building was evacuated as a precaution but fortunately there were far fewer people staying there than just a couple of weeks ago in August, and no injuries were reported.
Nevertheless, the smoke and flames did cause considerable destruction in the car park, where four vehicles were completely incinerated and 10 more were damaged.
