Mazarron Murcia is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on Mazarron Murcia, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?

Plaza de la Iglesia, Pilar de la Horadada
This is in front of the main parroquial church, the Iglesia Parroquial Nuestra Señora del Pilar.
The Plaza de la Iglesia occupies a central position in the heart of Pilar de la Horadada and is in front of the main parroquial church, the Iglesia Parroquial Nuestra Señora del Pilar. ( click for more info about the Iglesia Parroquial Nuestra Señora del Pilar).
The plaza is the focal point for many cultural and social events taking place in the community and is also the heart of local fiestas celebrated in honour of the Virgen del Pilar, the patrona of the town of Pilar de la Horadada, scene of the floral offering in regional costume which is one of the core acts of the fiestas.
The plaza is also used as the venue for artisan fairs and outdoor events in the centre of the town.
This plaza is one of the nicest places to sit and enjoy a coffee within the main urban area of Pilar de la Horadada and is lined with bars and restaurants offering outdoor seating in the shade of the trees within the plaza. The water feature is also extrmely popular with the youngsters, as well as offering a welcome chance to cool hot feet in the heat of summer.
There is parking just behind the plaza next to the town hall, which is just a few seconds walk from this central location.
