This is the new shopping centre that's opening up in Murcia this September
ARCHIVED ARTICLE -
More than 30 shops – including Jysk, Pepco and Mercadona – will open at the Los Olivos retail park on September 11

The long-awaited Los Olivos shopping complex in Cieza, Murcia, will officially open its doors on Thursday September 11, with shops beginning normal operations the following day. The grand opening promises to be a lively affair, featuring a flamenco show and a drone display visible from several kilometres away, with over 500 guests expected to attend.
Spanning 26,000 square metres of retail space, the new centre will bring together more than 30 businesses and is expected to create over 500 jobs, including 400 direct and 100 indirect positions.
The retail park, developed by the promoter Certain, is fully let, with the only exception being the hotel, which is still under construction and scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
Major confirmed retailers include Mercadona, McDonald’s, Action, Pepco, Sprinter, Jysk, Marvimundo, Max Colchón, Bricocentro and Foster’s Hollywood.
There will also be local favourites such as the Valencianísimos cafeteria and specialised shops like MeToo Sushi, Muebles Lola, Guaw pet supplies and Aqua Sport Clubs. A large Chinese bazaar and a 2,600-square-metre gym equipped will also be located at the shopping outlet.
Some units have already opened, such as the Jysk furniture store, which began trading in late July to align with its financial year. Other businesses, including the Valencianísimos café, are racing to complete preparations in time for the September opening.
“The good thing about Cieza is its access to the A-30 motorway, making it easily reachable from towns like Calasparra, Hellín, Jumilla, Blanca and Ricote,” said Pascual García from Certain. “These areas don’t have anything like this, so we’re bringing new services closer to them.”
Final preparations, including painting and work on the leisure plaza, are expected to be completed shortly, with two additional retailers due to be announced soon.
While this retail park provides shopping opportunities for northern and central Murcia, other indoor shopping malls elsewhere in the Region include the Parque Almenara Shopping Centre in Lorca and the Espacio Mediterráneo shopping centre Cartagena.
