Wintery weather this weekend: Murcia forecast October 9-12
Orange alerts for storms have been activated in Cartagena and Mazarrón

Weather alerts on Friday October 10
Well, if the weather earlier in the week felt a bit more autumnal, we’re definitely heading for winter this coming weekend. According to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet), the Region of Murcia can look forward to widespread showers and occasional heavy downpours, with parts of Cartagena and Mazarrón even issued with an orange alert for storms.
Thursday October 9

Like the rest of southern Spain, the Region on Murcia will be very overcast on Thursday with widespread, heavy and persistent showers and thunderstorms. The worst of the weather is forecast to hit in the afternoon and it will be especially bad in the south of the Region. Day-time temperatures will begin to drop across the board.
An orange alert for storms has been activated in Cartagena and Mazarrón, while yellow weather warnings are in place in the Northwest, Vega del Segura, Lorca and Aguilas.
Friday October 10

Things aren’t looking much better for Friday. Mazarrón and Cartagena remain on alert for significant storms but the entire Region can expect early rain and heavy downpours from the afternoon onwards.
Maximum temperatures will continue to drop, falling below 20ºC in many places.
Saturday October 11

Saturday will still be mostly cloudy and showery, but the thunderstorms will become more isolated and scattered in most parts. The weather alert has been downgraded to yellow in the Campo de Cartagena, where thunderstorms are still likely.
Daytime temperatures will start to increase.
Sunday October 12

More cloudy skies are forecast for Sunday with occasional showers, more likely in the afternoon. Maximum temperatures will continue to inch up.
