Mazarron Murcia is a website set up by Murcia Today specifically for residents of the urbanisation in Southwest Murcia, providing news and information on what’s happening in the local area, which is the largest English-speaking expat area in the Region of Murcia.
When submitting text to be included on Mazarron Murcia, please abide by the following guidelines so we can upload your article as swiftly as possible:

Attach the information in a Word Document or Google Doc
Include all relevant points, including:
Who is the organisation running the event?
Where is it happening?
When?
How much does it cost?
Is it necessary to book beforehand, or can people just show up on the day?

August 21 to 30 Annual fiestas in the San Javier village of Roda
Partying, music and a variety of food including Full English Breakfasts as Roda honours the Virgen de los Remedios
The annual fiestas of Roda in the municipality of San Javier are held every year in August in honour of the Virgen de los Remedios, with the celebrations by no means restricted to the Spanish locals: in fact, it has become a tradition in recent years for the temporary and permanent residents of Roda Golf to host a large English breakfast with all those from the surrounding area invited!
The program of the 2026 festivities having been announced as follows:

Friday August 21
21.30: Official proclamation of the fiestas with the opening speech by Pedro López.
22.30: The election of the Fiestas Queen and Maids of Honour. Snacks are served, drinks not included.
22.45: Latino dance class by Sofía y Alikhán.
23.45: Social dance after the class, come and enjoy disco music by IRIS Sonido.
Saturday August 22
22.00: Music and dancing with Grupo Musical Acuarela.
22.30: Giant raffle with magnificent prizes.
1.00: Bread and sobrasada sausage spread donated by Embutidos Gutiérrez.
Sunday August 23
9.45 The 10th annual classic cars and motorbikes show with exhibitors from nearby towns.
11.00: Holy Mass.
14.00: Giant paella, portions served at knockdown prices.
21.00: DJ music with IRIS Sonido.
21.30: Dance performance by the Asociación Cultural Bolero.
Children’s rides at the fairground throughout the evening at 2.50 euros.
August 24 and 25
18.00: The annual petanca competition organized by the MM2 club in Torre Pacheco. Teams of 3, 2 balls each. Registration by WhatsApp on 638 519250.
Wednesday August 26
21.30: Fancy dress party, prizes for the best 3 entrants”
22.30: Chocolate and buns at just 1.50 euros.
23.00: Foam party.
Thursday August 27 (International Day)
9.45 to 13.00: Music sponsored by Rodas’ Bar.
10.00 to 12.00: FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST at only 2.50 euros per portion.
21.30: Barbecue dinner for only 3 euros per burger, with live music from Velvet.
Friday August 28, Rumba Night!
22.00: Barbecue night, only 2.50 euros per portion.
22.30: Rumba Night with Al Relente.
Saturday August 29
19.00 to 21.00: Fun and games for children.
20.30: Mass is followed by a candlelit procession in the streets of the village, accompanied by a marching band and a firework display.
Oficina de Turismo de San Javier
The municipality of San Javier has three main offices giving tourist information to visitors, as well as two information points. The tourist offices are located in Santiago de la Ribera, on the ground floor of the town hall in San Javier and at the start of La Manga. There is also a summer tourist information point located on the seafront in Santiago de la Ribera as well as one at kilometre 12-13 of La Manga del Mar Menor next to Playa Mistral.
Due to its location on the fringes of the Mar Menor and Mediterranean, San Javier has a period of intense summer tourism activity during the peak summer months, although it is popular with retirees of all nationalities out of peak season.
Tickets for the annual San Javier Jazz Festival can be purchased at the Festival office in San Javier Town Hall, Plaza de España.
