Cold, wet and wintry start to January: Alicante weather forecast January 5-8
Rain and colder weather disrupt the Three Kings' celebrations across Alicante province

Three Kings' Eve arrives with plenty of rain, colder temperatures, and a chance of snow inland. Because of this, there have been changes and cancellations to some Three Kings celebrations and parades. Make sure to check your local town hall social media pages to see what’s happening in your town. The conditions will slowly improve later in the week, but it will stay cold away from the coast.
Monday January 5 - Three Kings' Eve

Three Kings' Eve arrives under grey skies, with widespread rain expected across much of Alicante province. Snow levels are forecast to drop to around 500 to 1,000 metres in northern inland areas and 1,000 to 1,500 metres further south. In the highest inland areas, a light covering of snow of up to around 2 cm cannot be ruled out.
Temperatures will fall throughout the day, with the coldest temperatures expected by evening. Light frost is possible inland. Along the coast, moderate north-easterly winds will ease later, while inland areas will see generally light northerly winds.
Tuesday January 6 - Three Kings' Day

Cloudy conditions continue into Three Kings' Day, becoming very overcast at times. Light rain is expected during the morning in inland areas and along the southern coast, turning to snow above around 500 to 600 metres.
Minimum temperatures will drop further, particularly inland, while daytime highs remain similar or slightly lower than Monday. Northerly winds will start light, becoming more noticeable during the afternoon.
Wednesday January 7

Wednesday brings some cloud and also some brighter spells, but it will remain cold. Night-time temperatures change little, while daytime highs rise slightly in the north of the province and stay much the same elsewhere.
Frost is expected inland, with moderate frost possible in higher areas and lighter frost closer to the coast. Winds will be moderate from the northwest, with stronger gusts possible in northern inland areas.
Thursday January 8

The weather will settle, with some cloud around and milder temperatures, especially overnight. There may still be some frost in higher inland areas, but it should be less widespread.
Westerly winds will be light to moderate, easing further in the north of the province as the day goes on.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante province:
Monday January 5: Min 3°C, Max 10°C
Tuesday January 6: Min 2°C, Max 10°C
Wednesday January 7: Min 1°C, Max 14°C
Thursday January 8: Min 2°C, Max 16°C
It’s a wet and cold start to Three Kings, with some celebrations affected by the weather and even a chance of snow inland. Conditions should slowly improve later in the week, but for now it’s time to wrap up warm and keep an eye on local weather updates across Alicante.
