TOWIE star Jake Hall found dead following Mallorca villa party tragedy
The former reality TV personality and fashion entrepreneur was found dead at a rented property in Santa Margalida after what investigators believe may have been a tragic accident
British reality television star Jake Hall has died in Mallorca, Spain at the age of 35 following an incident at a rented villa on the island. Spanish authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding his death, which reportedly occurred after a night of partying with friends.
Hall, who rose to fame after joining The Only Way Is Essex in 2015, was found dead at a property in Santa Margalida, in the north of Mallorca, on Wednesday morning, May 6. Emergency services were called to the house at around 7.30am after reports of a serious incident.
According to police sources, investigators are currently focusing on the theory that Hall suffered fatal injuries after smashing his head through a glass door inside the villa. Officers have stressed, however, that inquiries remain ongoing and that no possibilities have been ruled out.
Neighbours told local media they heard loud noises coming from the property during the early hours of the morning, with one witness describing sounds “as if they were drilling something” and claiming the walls were vibrating shortly before police arrived.
Reports suggest Hall and a group of friends had been out earlier in the evening before continuing the party back at the rented accommodation. The booking listing for the luxury property reportedly states that parties and events are not permitted.
A source close to the investigation claimed witnesses told officers that Hall had appeared increasingly agitated during the night and that the atmosphere at the villa had at times become aggressive. Police are understood to have questioned four men and two women who were staying at the house, although no arrests have been made.
The investigation is being led by the Guardia Civil and a post-mortem examination is due to take place in Palma.
An spokesperson for the UK Foreign Office said: “We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities.”
Hall had frequently spent time in Mallorca and reportedly owned a second home on the island, using it as a base for both work and leisure.
Just hours before his death, he shared a final post on Instagram featuring clips of artwork, Spanish scenery and fashion projects, accompanied by music from The Rolling Stones.
The post included the message: “Life is bollocks sometimes but I’m gonna try remember the good things – looking through things – I’m just making art – in many forms.”
Tributes have poured in from across the entertainment industry following the news. Television presenter Denise Van Outen wrote online: “Heartbreaking news having worked on TOWIE for 16 years this is devastating news for so many who knew Jake. A lovely man with an Incredible energy. Deepest condolences to Jake’s family & friends. Thinking of you all at this very sad time.”
Away from television, Hall had built a career in fashion and modelling. He also leaves behind his daughter, River, whom he shared with former The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Misse Beqiri.
Further details are expected once the autopsy results are released and investigators complete their inquiries into the incident.
